ANDERS ÅNGEST

ANDERS ÅNGEST – ….. 45 rpm (SWE) 1980
Very rare Umeå vinyl single
This is THE classic Punk Album from Norrland…. From Umeå… this 7” was spinning on everyones turntables in the early 80´s up in southern Lapland. With the classic line of –
”Jag tycker du är en fotomodell och ikväll, får du tusen beundrare, aah aah aah aaaahh…. Vad ska jag göra med dem?” freely translated as ”I think you look like a super model and tonight you will be having a thousand admirers… aah aah aah aaaahh… What shall I do with them?” – this record became almost a lifestyle…
The mysterious Jan Balzar is making a classic spoken intro that doesnt make any sense now or then…
Anders Ångest was a punk group that was dangerous… consisting of some mean motherf**kers and they were for a short while dominating the scene up in the cold north. Only overtaken by Ebba Grön on a couple of classic visits…
This piece of vinyl is NOT easy to find in any condition any longer…BUT, a recent version of ”Flickan” was recorded by a Free Improv group in Stockholm- MAXCOLIC – in the 90´s and will see the light of the day on vinyl in the near future.
Amilion – bass and vocal
Jan Balzar – voice
Nylle – guitar
Tomas Carneheim – vocals
Larry – drums

CALIGULAS BARN – Pryl 1, 45 rpm (SWE) 1981
500 pressed, but only 300 survived when rehearsal spece was taken down…
A classic punk single from the amazing Caligulas Barn from Umeå / Holmsund. Hitting it hard… and still , after 30 years, two of the members ( Kollberg and Westin) are still active together in Umeå, in the asskickin The Most!
The beginning of the 80´s was an extremely vibrant time in Umeå with very many active groups experimenting with new forms for music (and politics), both within jazz and rock/ punk.
Years before the HC – scene was hitting Umeå hard with groups like Refused and related.
Caligulas Barm, Anders Ångest and The Sämst were among the most creative and pulverizing combos.
”Askungen” – classic!
Magnus Kollberg . guitar, bass and vocal
Erik Levander – guitar, bass and vocal
Mats Westin – drums
